To create an artwork, I envision an image in layered fabric.
I choose string, cotton, or silk and cut them into shapes. As each material passes through my fingers, I get a feel for the subtle difference of how each textile's weave will layer onto the canvas.

I never tire of standing back from my easel, staring at the canvas until nothing interrupts my eye, and an aura of energy flows within and around the subject, giving it a life of its own.
That is when I know my work is complete.
Although my work appears painterly, it is created entirely of fabrics & threads layered onto a canvas in one to twenty layers. Thin silks and thicker cotton materials determine this, creating luminous woven colors different from a painting.
